TERESA LAZARD

Attorney Teresa Lazard earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University graduating cum laude with a degree in criminal justice. While attending there, she was awarded the Minority Achievement Award for Academic Excellence and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, Inc. After graduating from Auburn University, she moved to Georgia and worked as a claims adjuster for a property and casualty company.

She later attended Emory University School of Law and earned her Juris Doctor degree. While attending Emory University, she completed externships at the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Counsel’s Office in Decatur, Georgia, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Cobb County Legal Aid.

Attorney Lazard’s career as a trial attorney began when she worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit of Hall County. After working as an Assistant District Attorney, she began working as a workers’ compensation attorney. She has litigated workers’ compensation cases for over a decade. Attorney Lazard honed her trial advocacy skills and learned the tactics of employers and insurance carriers while representing employers and insurance carriers in moderate to high exposure workers’ compensation cases. She has nearly fifteen years of experience as a trial attorney.

She worked on one of the largest workers’ compensation settlements in Georgia’s history. Also, she was featured in a radio broadcast giving an expert legal opinion regarding workers’ compensation in Georgia.

She is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. She is also admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia and the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia.

Attorney Lazard is on the executive committee of The National Black Lawyers – Top 100. She is a member of the National Bar Association, the Gate City Bar Association, and the Gwinnett County Bar Association.
