[VIDEO] Do’s for Injured Workers: Call an Attorney Immediately
They should call an attorney immediately after they’ve informed their employer. If you call an attorney prior to informing employer that’s the first thing an attorney is going to tell you, so go ahead and inform the employer right away. Then the employer will inform the insurance company that represents them of the work compensation injury. Then you need to call an attorney immediately. Don’t wait until the employer decides to say, “Okay, I’ll send you to a doctor”.
The reason I tell you call an attorney rather quickly it’s because in workers’ compensation it matters who the doctor is. It’s sad and unfortunate. But not every doctor is there to provide you the benefits or the treatment that you need. A lot of doctors may push to get you back to work quicker than you are ready for.
